Water Soluble Dietary Fibre
FIBERSOL-2 is a digestive-resistant dietary fibre dissolving in water without any opaque residue (100% solubility). Its ability to dissolve without impacting the transparency of water creates unique advantage against other soluble fibres. Moreover, it has high resistance to low pH and high temperature. As a result, Fibersol-2 is a superior source of fibre for many food products including fruit juice, dairy drinks, snacks and confectionaries. It does not cause flatulence thanks to slow fermentation in intestines. It moderates blood glucose and tri-glyceride level by preventing sudden increase after meals. It regulates the progress of the intestinal micro flora, heals and increases the number of naturally present bacteria, especially Bifidobacterium and a like. It has no negative effect on taste, in fact it has a good masking effect on high-density sweeteners and Stevia. Studies also show that it encourages calcium absorption by increasing its rate by 50-70%.
Omega-3 is a naturally occurring nutrient critical for human health. There are three primary omega-3s: ALA, EPA, and DHA. While they are all considered healthful fats, there are big differences between the three and the function they perform in the body. ALA (alpha-linoleic acid) offers limited health benefits. EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) have many vital, life-sustaining roles.
They are necessary for our health just like vitamins and minerals, but they are another category of nutrients, namely fatty acids.
Consuming enough EPA and DHA is important for one’s health. For example, sufficient intake supports our heart, brain, eyes, joints, blood vessels and more. In particular, omega-3s are critical to normal development during pregnancy, childhood, and adolescence.
EPA and DHA are most easily obtained by consuming cold-water fish like salmon and tuna or by taking purified supplements made of fish oil.
Fibres derived from citrus provide high functionality in many food applications such as improvement in texture, water holding abilities and cost savings as well as clean labelling.
Pea and Lentil Fibres (Bran)
Pulse fibres are fine powder materials, made from milling of the husk of the pea or lentil seeds, without using any processing aids or chemical compounds. Pulse brans are food grade ingredients, which increase the dietary fibre content of foods without altering flavour and colour properties.
Pulse fibres also offer quality solutions with excellent water and fat binding properties. The viscosity, yield improvement and texturizing properties of pulse fibres make them excellent natural solution for food formulations in bakery products, snacks, breakfast cereals, breads and meat products.
